I took this photograph just because I liked what I saw.
Flowers were everywhere, and branches crossed. Then a beautiful butterfly landed on one bloom. I wanted to find an interesting frame, and this one just felt right.
Much later, when I looked at the photo again, I started thinking about how nature can reflect my own experiences.
With so many options around me, I often connect to something specific. It can be a person, a conversation, an event or a place. I just feel connected. In that moment, I might not know why. Or I just take it for granted…give it a pass, nothing to ponder about.
And then, reflecting more, I may find that there may already be an intention inside me, something I have not noticed or put into words yet. It could be quietly waiting in my mind. The unconscious part.
Then the right moment comes along.
Something outside me connects with something inside. I recognize it almost right away, move toward it, and in that connection, I find joy. Just like when I took this picture.
It’s like the butterfly choosing one flower among many.
Sometimes the moment does not create our intention. It just shows us what was already there.
