Some Moments Do Not Return

Some songs are more than memories-they are part of my story, carrying truths I hold close.
This song, especially, carries this meaning for me.

When I hear “Zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hain jo makaam…”, it’s not just the melody or lyrics that linger, but the song’s truth: some moments come only once-never to return.
As I age (just in years!), this resonates more. Life isn’t defined by major events, but by countless small moments that often slip by unnoticed.

A conversation postponed. Someone I thought would always stay. A misunderstanding left unresolved. A feeling never shared. A friend I meant to meet, but didn’t.

In those moments, everything seems ordinary. I tell myself there will be another chance, another day, another conversation.

But life moves on, even as I hope for another chance.

People come into my life. Some stay; some go. Misunderstandings or life take them away.
What remains is not just their absence, but the knowledge that those moments existed only because they were there.

I miss not just the person but also the feeling and who I was then.

That’s why this song always moves me deeply.

It reminds me how quietly time moves. Days end. Seasons change. People age. Children grow. Relationships shift. Suddenly, a chapter is gone.

We realize the value of moments only after they pass. Ego, doubt, and assumptions easily disrupt relationships. I hesitate to call. I wait for the other person. I assume they know how I feel.

By doing this, I sometimes lose what matters. For me, this song isn’t sad-it gently reminds me moments matter because they don’t return. It urges me to be present now.

To value people while they are still with me. To say what my heart wants to say. To not let pride come in the way. Moments like these do not come back. They must be lived fully, right now.
Wisdom is seeing this before the moment is gone forever.
